Hi my name is Shelley and besides my love for Jesus, my husband and kids, I have a love for photography! I have loved everything about photography ever since I was a little girl. I remember sitting on my grandma's lap as she would tell me her life's story in photos and I was hooked on always wanting to see everyones and anyones photos. When I became a little older {12 years old }I remember getting my first little camera. I loved taking pictures so much I don't think I ever put it down.
Now let's fast forward to 2008....
I am a stay at home mom, married to my wonderful, supportive husband and our precious twins. I was looking for and praying about finding a stay at home job. My husband always used to tell me to do something I love and have a passion for. Not long after I received my first DSLR camera and that is how Shelley Dee Photography came to life. I started out taking photos of newborns, children and families. Until I received a few phone calls for photographing weddings and high school seniors.
I fell in love with photographing weddings because I get to really connect with my clients by serving them. By the time I meet my clients for the first time, taking their engagement photos, capturing their wedding day with my camera, then meeting them to deliver their wedding album….I end up walking away from this special time with two new friends for life!! Creating an emotional connection with every photo I capture of a couples big day and delivering "The Wedding Story" of their dreams is my ultimate goal. I hope I get the chance to capture your special day with my camera leaving you with your very own wedding story you can look back on and share for years to come!!
The other call I received was to photograph a teen age girl for her high school portraits. Being able to work with high school senior girls are so fun…most love getting their photos taken and have no problem posing in front of my camera. Although some girls are a little more shy and that's ok…it is my goal to help you through the process of feeling comfortable and having a good time while I capture this special time in your life. In the end it give me great joy capturing a teenage girls natural beauty from within and being able to see her face when she looks at her photos for the first time is so rewarding!
From 2008 to present I have taken ongoing classes and workshops from how to use my equipment, lighting, posing and style. Even with all the courses I have taken and still take, nothing can compares to the passion and drive I have to create a wonderful experience for every one of my clients. There really is nothing more rewarding than being able to capture beautiful images and creating new relationships with my clients.
