Thursdays Thanksgivings..."One Beautiful Moment" {Northern San Francisco Bay Area Photographer~Shelley Hohe}

"One snap of the shutter, and there it was . . . one beautiful moment captured in time for eternity."
This was the first sentence of my morning devotional that I read a few days ago.  Being a photographer, this devotion really spoke to me and I wanted to share this with others.  Every morning not only do I love it, but I need to have my morning devotions with God...it starts my day on the right path!

I love it when I am able capture the ordinary with my camera and by creating a gallery with the photos I capture it tells a Timeless story full of beauty and life. Just like in this devotion I love how it talks about how  "God makes extravagant beauty out of seemingly mundane things."  Whether it's the skies above or the seas below everything in between the two are masterpieces created by God.

Not only did God use a gallery to display His masterpiece when creating the skies, seas and everything in between, but He also used a gallery to display His glory...humans!  "We too are made out of something ordinary—dust"
Genesis 2:7-8"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed."

You might think as humans we are ordinary, mundane and seen by few, but God looks at each one of us as his beautiful masterpiece created just by Him. How beautiful is that!

Isaiah 40:6-8
The voice said, “Cry out!”
And he[a] said, “What shall I cry?”
“All flesh is grass,
And all its loveliness is like the flower of the field.

The grass withers, the flower fades,

Because the breath of the Lord blows upon it;
Surely the people are grass.

The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever.”

Country Love {Engagement Session} Marin, Sonoma, Napa County Photographer...Shelley Hohe

Where do I begin.....I am so full of emotion when thinking about this session I did. First of all I met this sweet couple and their families at our church, I was even there when their engagement was announced at church on Christmas morning.  They were both so happy and excited, it was very special!  I am honored that they chose me to be their photographer.  As I was capturing the love between this beautiful couple with my camera it was filling my heart with such joy and excitement.  I felt like this is exactly what I am supposed to be doing, like me photographing them was blessing me, a precious gift from God!  At first they were a little timid in front of my camera, I told them to pretend I wasn't even there and to do what was comfortable of course with a few prompts from me here and there.  They were so AWESOME and so full of LOVE that I was just GIDDY as I was snapping away.  Even as I am posting about it, seeing these photos put together is like a love story unfolding right before my eyes.  It's not me, this is all them and God bringing two wonderful people together to create a beautiful thing called LOVE!!!  Congratulations Katelyn and Colton....I look forward as I get to journey with you both with my camera in hand as we get closer to your wedding day.  Thank you for this wonderful blessing!!!

Blooming {Maternity Session} Marin, Sonoma, Napa County Photographer...Shelley Hohe

When I found out I was going to be photographing these new parents to be I was out and about looking for the perfect location.  There is something I love about vineyards especially when the flowers are blooming it is so pretty!  The flowers are so delicate yet so full of life.  Just like a growing baby inside their mommy's womb....growing and blooming again delicate yet so full of life.  There is nothing more beautiful and radiant than a pregnant mommy to be!!!

Next Generation {Children Session} Marin, Sonoma, Napa County Photographer...Shelley Hohe

Recently an old friend of mine from elementary school asked if I could take her families photos.  It is so fun being able to capture the next generation of some of my friends children.  It is amazing how all of my friends now have kids when it still seems like it was just yesterday I was playing with my friends on the playground at school and riding bikes through town.  It is such a blessing to be able to watch this next generation grow and do some of the same things we used to do :)
