Locations 1, 2 or 3 ~ Holiday Sessions {Northern S.F. Bay Area Photographer...Shelley Hohe}

With in the last month i have been in search for some perfect locations for outdoor photo sessions. Two out of the three places i already knew about since growing up here in the Marin/Sonoma county area. The other i just happened to stumble upon when driving into the country for a leisure drive one afternoon with my family.

The following three locations are perfectly located from Marin to Sonoma...you choose! If you want a beautiful garden area with stone steps leading to lush greenery or a stone pathway choose location # 1. If you want a little more rustic feel with flowers, an old antique door or a vintage truck as your backdrop choose location # 2. If you want more of a fall look with an amazing pallet of colors including picnic tables and a sweet little footbridge choose location # 3.

Any of these three locations will make the perfect setting for your next photo session. I will also be using these locations for my "Candy Cane Christmas" photo sessions which i am currently booking for now. Besides photography i love graphic designing and will be making my custom Christmas photo cards again this year. I will need at least two weeks before Christmas if you are wanting to mail as greeting cards. I look forward to using these three beautiful locations to capture you and your family this holiday season!!!

Happy Veterans Day ~ Personal {Northern S.F. Bay Area Photographer...Shelley Hohe}

Today was a day to remember all the men and women who served to protect our country so we can be safe here in America. As we are in the comfort of our own home surrounded by our loved ones while these men and women dressed in uniforms might be as far as overseas away from their homes missing their loves ones....it gives me great pleasure to say THANK YOU to all my family, friends and everyone who has served in our military and their families as they wait patiently for their loved ones to come safely home. Our family is forever grateful!!

Capturing Art....Black & White or Color ~ Lifestyle {Northern S.F. Bay Area Photographer...Shelley Hohe}

Now that i am living back in the San Francisco Bay Area, i am in the process of scouting out some new locations for some upcoming photo sessions. In the midst of my searching i came across this beautiful serene pond surrounded by trees. When i arrived, there were a small group of woman artists who were painting a landscape of this beautiful scene. I approached one of the very kind ladies and asked if i could capture them painting with my camera. I am so glad she said yes because what i ended up with was "capturing art" with my camera.

I love the fact that this photo is not posed, she just went about her painting. It gives it much more of an emotional feel to me. I usually shoot in color because i just love bright and beautiful colors, but with this photo i decided to do one in black & white as well. I like the feeling black & white photos give because instead of focusing on the colors in the picture you are focusing on the subject and what their doing or feeling.

What do you like....Black & White or Color???

November is Here...My Favorite Time of Year ~ Landscapes {Northern S.F. Bay Area Photographer...Shelley Hohe}

I am so excited that November is here! November is a month that we can look out side and see all the beautiful fall colors. It amazes me every year when i see each and every new color that is different from the year before. God is such an amazing artist, He put so many fine touches on this earth and November is one of His Masterpieces. Think about how many different rich colors there are during the fall....yellow, orange, red, green, brown, burgundy and many many more. I love taking walks outside during this time of year, walking along as the grounds are blanketed with leaves, noticing all the rich color pallets, feeling the cool crisp autumn air, the scent of wood burning in the fireplace and of course a nice warm pumpkin latte in hand. Mmmmm could it get any better.

During times like this i just want to rejoice and thank God for all He has given. He has given so much...He gave His son Jesus to die for our sins and that through His son we can have everlasting life. Just as the colors of leaves change, we are given a chance to change as well. What ever is not going right in our life, we can come to our Father in Heaven and lay all of our burdens at the foot of the cross. As the trees change color and let go of their leaves so can we with our burdens, our struggles, our problems. With Thanksgiving coming soon, it is the perfect time to look around at all we have and give thanks. Thank you Lord, this really is my favorite time of year!

Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands!
Serve the LORD with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
Know that the LORD, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
For the LORD is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.

~ Psalm 100

It is good to praise the LORD
and make music to your name, O Most High,
proclaiming your love in the morning
and your faithfulness at night,
to the music of the ten-stringed lyre
and the melody of the harp.

For you make me glad by your deeds, LORD;
I sing for joy at what your hands have done.
How great are your works, LORD,
how profound your thoughts!

Psalm 92:1-5
